Saving for Diamond dig

I have decided I am going to save the money I make from eBay to put towards a trip to the Diamond Mine in Arkansas. I found out it's very inexpensive and we can even save more money by making it a camping trip. This is my plan for next summer I think even the kids will enjoy it. How many kids can say they went diamond hunting. Just imagine the stories if they get lucky and find some too. I have told hubby of my plans for next summer but I will wait to tell the kids. Don't want to get their hopes up and then not be able to go. So to raise the money I am selling different types of books on eBay under the username molimoney2006 check them out, sorry no rock, mineral, or fossil books on there. Bye all.

Another Diamond mine great find

For the record I told my husband that I wanted to vacation here to start my treasure hunting adventures. This was when I first decided to be a stay at home mom. The place "Crater of Diamonds" State Park in Arkansas. Well now someone else has made another great find there a 6.35 carat diamond. I have now decided that I am going to take all the extra money I'm making on eBay selling books and save for next summer. You can look at my books at molimoney2006 at ebay or you can see all that I will be selling this month on YouTube under the name molito66. Then maybe I will make enough that between my saved money and our usual allowance for vacation we might come up with enough to drive down and go diamond hunting. I would just love to find a diamond that I can say I found this diamond. Anyone can go and pay for a diamond I want to hunt one. I just think that would be so cool. Hubby jokes and says after the kids have grown he will move us down there so I can hunt them everyday. I'll be happy with a once a year vacation there I think. But anyway congrats to the couple from Texas on their great find. Bye for now all.

When universes collide

This Hubble image of the Antennae galaxies is the sharpest yet of this merging pair of galaxies. As the two galaxies smash together, billions of stars are born, mostly in groups and clusters of stars. The brightest and most compact of these are called super star clusters. This is the picture you see when two galaxies have a violent collision. This brings the birth of billions of new stars. Most of these clusters will disperse in about ten million years but about a hundred of them will grow into globular clusters. Globular clusters are large groups of stars found in many galaxies, including our own Milky Way. The Antennae galaxies are sixty-eight million light years away from earth, began to fuse five hundred million years ago. This image serves as a preview for the Milky Way's likely collision with nearby Andromeda galaxy, about six billion years from now.

The new Seven Wonders of the World

Well as it goes to show sooner or later age will catch up to you no matter who you are. Even the seven wonders of the world can't fight age. Only one of the seven wonders is still standing. Now the time has come for a new batch of the seven wonders of the world. One of the choices is the famous Stonehenge the only British land mark selected. Another one that made the list that has been narrowed to twenty-one so far is The Statue of Liberty. (You go girl). the last remaining original wonder is the Pyramids of Giza in Cairo. The original seven wonders were the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, the Statue of Zues at Olympia, the Temple of Artemis at Ephesus, the Mausoleum at Halicarnassus, the Colossus of Rhodes and the Lighthouse of Alexandria. You can put in your vote for the new seven wonders at "www.new7wonders.com" so be part of the decision making and vote now. Bye for now.

Dinosaur bones found

It's a new monster discovery on an Artic island off Norway. Scientists have discovered remains that total up to 28 plesiosaurs and ichthyosaurs - top marine predators when dinosaurs ruled the land. On the island of Spitsbergen about 800 miles from the North Pole. One of them being a gigantic monster with vertebrae the size of dinner plates and teeth the size of cucumbers. The skeleton believed to be intact is about thirty-three feet long. It's a type of plesiosaur with a short neck and massive skull. This monster may be a distant relative to the famous Loch Ness monster. Scientists better hurry and get thier fossils because the skull smelled like petrol. We all know what that means here come the oil tycoons.

An artist's impression of a 'Monster' fish-like reptile (bottom ), whose fossil was found on the Arctic island of Spitsbergen, off Norway, catching a smaller plesiosaur, in this image from the Natural History Museum, University of Oslo. (Natural History Museum, University of Oslo/Handout/Reuters.

phase 3 done

I gave phase three an extra day for a little extra cleaning. Now we get to start the polishing stage. I took a few snapshots of them to show haven't seen neighbor yet to see if he wanted some pictures. Hopefully my new digital camara I'm getting takes much better pictures. Right now I'm cleaning the tumbler with some ajax to make sure I get all the grit out before I start the polishing stage. This also makes sure all the grit is off the rocks too. The bad news is after this batch is done I have all winter to come up with enough money to buy a new tumbler this old one is shot. I think it's tumbled its last batch. So wish me luck everyone. bye for now.

Rocks at Cher's garage sale?

I know I know Cher being talked about on a rock hunting blog don't make since. But actually it does have something to do with rocks. Cher is having a big garage sale to get rid of some of her old stuff. She's getting rid of her old gothic aesthetic and changing to Morroca- Tibetan look. She's getting rid of clothes, object d'art, and jewelry. Thats where the rocks fit into the story imagine the gem stones that will be at that sale. There's a rock find for you a very expensive rock find that is. I think I'll just stick with the old fashioned way and go out and find my own. Happy rock hunting until next time bye.
