cold weather blues
I really hate this time of year as I get older. It always seems colder, I get more colds, and I don't want to go out. Well this is a good time to polish up all my rocks I got this year. Me and my daughter got our supplies to start making necklaces from the rocks we find. The first batch we have polished up is honey agate. We don't have the fancy equipment to grind them down to perfect shape, but that just gives each one of them their own unique characteristic.

rock necklaces
This week me and my daughter went to a yard sale that had a bunch of rocks yes it was the same one as before. This time though me and my daughter used our business heads and we had a great idea. They had a tray of different stones ready to be turned into necklaces and a bag of chains so my daughter decided to finish putting together the necklaces. She gave some to friends some for herself and the rest she will sell on ebay. Then we decided seems we find plenty of small pieces of honey agate and other pretty rocks we can make more of our own to sell. So we are going to purchase more chains off ebay and polish up some rocks and sale necklaces on ebay. For right now once we start we will use my ebay account I sell books on molimoney2006 so take a look they will be coming soon. If we have success with it I will probably set up a seperate account because I do have a second one I havent used for anything yet. I will let you know if we switch to that one. So give us about a week or two then come check out my daughters first own business. Just imagine a teenager trying to do good instead of destruction so please support her so she stays on the right track. Thanks everyone. Weather permittng we are going rock hunting friday to get some supplies so to speak. talk to you later.

hunting rocks and bones
Well the river is finally down enough to find some good stuff. A friend of ours found a musk ox head and a buffalo head this week. So me and the kids and the neighbor went out to try our luck. We didn't have as good as luck as our friend but we still found some nice rocks and bones and a couple of new sandbars to return to. We forgot to take our cameras so we didn't get any pictures or videos at the river but I will take some at home and post them later. My other friend Phil on the hill went to Colorado and brought back some nice rocks and petrified wood. Which of course he shared with us. I will show some pictures of them too. Well happy hunting everyone till next time.

Sorry it's been awhile everyone but I have been very busy since the hill come down on my house. But me and the kids finally took a break and went to a garage sale that had all kinds of different rocks and bones. We got some pretty cool stuff there I found a mask made out of a hip bone. I also found a big bag of crystals, a horn, a horse tooth, and a scrapping rock, and a bunch of others you will see some in my pictures. My daughter also made out like a bandit she has this one container full of sharks teeth and cats eyes. Plus she got a whole bunch of other stuff too.

hunting rocks in the cold
Who says you need warm weather to rock hunting. If you got friends like mine you can go rock hunting in any weather. Me and my daughter just load up and go visit our buddy on the hill and he loads us up every time. This time we got a lot of Montana agate, petrified wood, chunk of opal, moss agate, Brazilian agate, and various others. He gave us little rocks big chunks and slices of all sorts. So go ahead cold weather hit me with your best shot bring the snow you don't scare me I have my secret spot picked out. I've already been rock hunting 3 times this year once on the river twice at my friends house. Now if mother nature would just straighten up I could go find me some morel mushrooms. Later everyone will have pictures soon.

Some new rocks
Went to visit my friend on the hill the other day and you guessed it he loaded me down with more rocks. He also invited me to go along with him and his rock hunting buddy one of these days. Then he gave me a vibrator for sliced rocks but I need to find a motor for it. Then he showed me how his rock slicer operates. I will put up some pictures of my new rocks on here and on my yahoo group riverrockhounds. My first batch of rocks is going in the tumbler now. I decided to start with my petrified wood. I love my new tumbler it's so quiet compared to the last one. They are on day three of the first cycle. So I will have pictures of them too here in a few days.

A quick look for rocks
Well spring fever finally got me yesterday me and the neighbor went out by the river to see what we could find. Me being the rock hound type that I am of course I brought some home. Nothing real fancy just some more rocks for my rock garden and a couple pieces of petrified wood it looks like a couple pieces of coal. then I found a couple of rocks that seem awfully heavy for their size not sure what they are. I will get pictures up soon to show you my finds. So get your gear all rounded up because rock season is here. good luck everyone see you later.

Lovers bones found embracing
ROME -- An embrace that has lasted some 5,000 years will go on, if archaeologists are successful.
The bones of a couple are being gently scooped out of the earth on the outskirts of Mantua, Italy.
The pair are believed to be a man and a woman who died young. Archaeologists have hailed the find, saying that double burials from that period are rare and none have been found in such a touching pose.
The burial was unearthed during construction work. The site is 25 miles south of Verona, the setting for Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet," and the discovery has fueled media speculation about prehistoric love.
